New Zealand's veteran post-rockers, Jakob, the band that gave the world Solace in 2006, this last October returned with a brand new album called Sines and a UK/European tour to support it.
Eight years in the making, Sines has definitely not gotten the attention it deserves, although the band didn't disappoint their fans and they delivered a solid record that doesn't lack anything compared to their previous efforts and it absolutely delivers.
Jakob belong in the genre's royalty, alongside acts like Mogwai, GY!BE and Isis and every new release of their should be a big deal to the media. Instead the band remains in the shadows, quietly putting together one of the best post rock records of recent years, that slipped even our attention.
