The sad news for the tragic death of The Allman Brothers Band drummer and founding member, Butch Trucks, is followed by the police report which ruled the man's death a suicide. As if that's not grim enough, the worst part about it is that it happened in front of his wife of 25 years, Melinda, who while in shock called the police and without being able to even speak in full sentences and called in the incident and told the police that her husband has shot himself in the head with a pistol. At the time of the phone call Butch was still breathing, but before long he gave in.
It all happened at the couple's condo in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was 69 years old.
