One of the reasons Brooklyn's Think Tank earn their audience's attention and justify their exploratory nature as a band is that they don't indulge in repeating things. It's been obvious that the experimental indie rock trio does not enjoy sounding the same twice, and that is exactly what their latest release certifies.
Their previous outing, Lid, was a 21-minute audio and visual project, with an avant garde pose and more heavily inclined on the band's improvisational skills. Now, their new piece, Krautrock is a refined and sharper focused song, tighter structured, encompassing the band's instinctive tendencies towards the extreme, through Josie Sedgwick's rabid vocal deliverance and backed by a deranged but more straightforward rock foundation, the combination of which could easily draw comparisons to a wide range of punk rocking edge, from X-Ray Spex to Battle Of Mice.
Krautrock is the first of many releases that Think Tank has planned for the year, with the promise for each one to deliver more surprises than the last. The song will be filling side-A of an upcoming 7-inch split release with Boston's Idle Pilot, scheduled to drop on June 23rd via Head Vs. Heart Records.
Think Tank will be heading out on the road at the end of June. They will be workshopping their newest record which will be recorded in August in New Lebanon, NY at The Mall Of Found. Check out the dates below...
