American post hardcore collective, Self Defense Family, have been around for a long time, they have put out tons of material; EPs, singles and split releases that are quite tough to keep up with, and they have graced with their presence multiple estimable punk and indie labels. Despite the plenitude of content, we cannot get enough of what this great act has to offer. The band is gearing up for their upcoming album, Have You Considered Punk Music, their sixth full length in total and first for the much respectable, Run For Cover Records.
The album's title track is an excellent example of the band's post hardcore somberness, with obvious nods to nineties noise rock and post rock. The beautifully shot and produced, accompanying video will have you craving a calzone really bad.
The single's unveiling comes with an enjoyable 16-minute commentary on which SDF's Patrick Kindlon and Andrew Duggan discuss the song.
