For the first time in eight years, and for the first time ever on Ipecac Recordings, Rhode Island's Daughters reveal a new song, off a yet unannounced but expected 2018 release.
"As longtime fans of many of the albums Ipecac has released, we are proud to be a part of their roster," says the band's own, Nick Sadler. "We are looking forward to getting back on road and playing new songs."
Satan in the Wait sounds sharp, dark and absolutely compelling, and like something that fits perfectly in the roster of a label run by Mike Patton, since it seems to be channeling equal amounts of the avant-garde theatricality of Faith No More, and the noise rocking spirit of illustrious bands, like Melvins and Fugazi.
Daughters are Alexis Marshall (vocals), Nick Sadler (guitar), Jon Syverson (drums) and Sam Walker (bass). The band had been on an indefinite hiatus since the release of their very successful 2010 self titled album, interrupted only for a handful of live appearances over the course of those eight years.
The band has announced a five-date North American tour in November. Dates below.
November 4 Brooklyn, NY Saint Vitus
November 9 Los Angeles, CA The Echo
November 10 San Francisco, CA Bottom of the Hill
November 15 Denver, CO Larimer Lounge
November 17 Chicago, IL Beat Kitchen
