Australian-born, London-based artist, Penelope Trappes, is gearing up for the release of her next full length, Penelope Two, on the excellent label, Houndstooth. The upcoming album will be the follow up to last year's Penelope One, and it is due out October 26th, 2018.
Trappes has been known as one half of electronic music duo, The Golden Filter. On her solo releases she attempts a more minimal, more ethereal and darker approach which can be reminiscent of the experimental sound of Scott Walker's latest few albums, as well as the prominent darkness in the records the legendary 4AD produced during the eighties. For her sophomore release Trappes also cites influences from Angelo Badalamenti and Julee Cruise, early Primal Scream, Colin Newman, Tropic Of Cancer and Sky H1.
Carry Me is a captivating, supersensible listen, delicate and forceful, setting us up for a full length which is not expected to be any less intriguing.
