Earlier in 2018 Austin shoegaze quartet, Blushing, released Weak, a superb EP which showed their growth and progression as a band, and further established them as one of the genre's blooming acts. Almost a year later they return with a new single, recorded, mixed and produced by Elliott Frazier of Ringo Deathstarr, and released on seven-inch pink vinyl via The Nothing Song Records.
More meticulous than ever in terms of production, and always harmonious and downright excitable through their firm performance, on The Truth Blushing progress even further, sounding prone toward a more psychedelic approach, without ever losing the colorful, sparkly grit of their shoegaze-y nature. B-side, Sunshine, is an equally melodious and impressive cut which burns a bit more slowly than side A, and the two fresh numbers make up another excellent release, once again verifying how solid Blushing's presence is in the world of shoegaze and dreampop right now.
We are promised a debut full length being in the works and coming early 2019.
Blushing are Christina (vocals, bass) and Noe Carmona (guitar), and Michelle (guitar, vocals) and Jake Soto (drums).
