Refuge is the second piece unveiled off Torn In Two, the upcoming long player by Benjamin Wynn's Deru project, scheduled for release on October 19th, 2018 via Friends of Friends.
Once more presenting the composer's inclinations toward experimentation and his skillful, unconventional musicianship, Refuge lays out an otherworldly sound founded on dark ambiance, noise and film music. Deru brings to mind the exploratory and absolutely melodious work of Philip Glass, while remaining wholly original, this time focusing more on a more tranquil and serene approach, still allowing some restrained intensity to lurk in.
Completely hands on with his many-sided art, Deru is also partly responsible for the gorgeous, very artistic, black and white visual that comes with the track.
