Hollydoom is the epitome of modern horror-tinged synthwave, a ten track compilation which brings together the iconic Fangoria, the always based and experienced film music label, Lakeshore Records, and a series of veteran and upcoming musicians who have challenged and mastered the genre.
The renowned Fangoria re-launched the magazine in October as a print-only quarterly collectible, and extended the franchise into other related divisions, like films, podcasts, and books.
Just released, Hollydoom sounds relentless and tireless from start to finish, including standard synth-heavy eminence from John Carpenter, Binary Reptile and Carpenter Brut, together with new original pieces from the genre's currently first rate acts like Gunship, Power Glove, Mega Drive, as well as strong up and comers like Wojciech Golczewski and Pentagram Home Video.
"Possibly the last word in contemporary culture’s obsession with ’80s nostalgia, this album plays like the soundtrack to a movie that doesn’t exist, yet one whose title is right on the top of your tongue," said Fangoria’s Editor-in-Chief, Phil Nobile Jr. "It’s ten tracks of affectionate, synth-driven false memories that will confuse music historians for generations."
