Although Rob Burger's name is not instantly recognizable, his work has been part of some very much recognizable music from acts such as Calexico, Iron & Wine, John Zorn, Laura Veirs, Beth Orton and many more, as well as on celebrated film soundtracks, both as a composer and featured soloist.
The Grid is Burger's upcoming LP, set for release on June 21st, 2019 on Western Vinyl. Bringing together krautrock and ambiance with neo-classical elements, the album goes beyond any genre's boundaries and deals with intricate sentiments in a very subtle and elusive way.
In 2010 Burger contributed to Laurie Anderson’s album, Homeland, and almost a decade later the two artists get to reunite, this time on a highlight, yet, delicate track from The Grid. Souls of Winter is a spacious, minimal piece of orchestral art pop which carries the bold characters of both its main creator and its guest contributor, all cosmic and idyllic in its bewitching lowliness.
