If 2017's All Bitches Die was the breakthrough album that put Lingua Ignota on the map of dark, heavy and avant garde music for its unnerving beauty, it all looks like Caligula is going to be the record that establishes the artist as one of the greatest of her kind.
The extremely bleak and totally instinctive, Do You Doubt Me Traitor, becomes the second offering surfacing off the coming record. A gut-wrenching, and at times terrifying epic, the song showcases Kristin Hayter’s intuitiveness and vision in all their grim glory, and it comes through very much imposing, instituted on a hair-raising vocal performance, a fair amount of dramatics and theatricality, and the cold and forlorn poetry of its lyrical content.
Caligula will be released on July 19th, 2019 on Profound Lore Records, and by all means it emerges like a fully realized and compelling work, worth diving deep into.
