Although Jettes began as a long-distance, musical internet friendship between two artists, Gurr’s Laura Lee and Melody Connor, nothing in the duo's songwriting suggests any kinds of obstacles or restrictions. If anything Jettes emerge like zestful creators, and with only a pair of singles behind them thus far, they have already managed to make their presence felt.
Lost My Baby follows the band's debut piece, Traces, from last May, this time showcasing more of their love for sturdy Gen X-minded grunge, as well as traditional garage rock and archetypal pop melodiousness, like a fantasied mixture between The Breeders and The Standells. It's a fun breakup song, shining in its typical three-minute glory, and a beautiful homage to the always gratifying rock 'n' roll tropes.
