As the release date for Crunchy Frog's upcoming 25-year anniversary compilation, And Now For Something Completely Crunchy, draws near, the more singles get released, the more we get to sample off the label's diverse and exciting catalog.
Copenhagen post punk trio, Shiny Darkly, deliver a bluesy, mellow and down to earth cut which shines in its fine simplicity. Roll The Dice is enhanced with peculiarly rich instrumentals that involve brilliant arps and alluring percussion, as well as the beautiful, hazy vocals of Sharin Foo from The Raveonettes who masterfully handles lead vocal duties together with the band's own singer and guitarist, Kristoffer Bech. Shiny Darkly's lineup is rounded by Mads Lassen (drums) and Oliver Matthew Volz (bass guitar).
Echoes of early nineties' dreampop come alive, while Roll The Dice suggests Shiny Darkly as a band among the ones to watch.
