Aussie punk is one of our favorite kinds of punk, and history has it that down under the genre never dies nor fades away. In 2019 Australian punk bands keep emerging powerfully, with most recently Amyl & The Sniffers and The Chats being excellent examples of- and great successors to the tenacity and character that can be found in this branch of underground punk rock. Such notable Australian bands keep rising every once in a while, and Melbourne's Gold Minds are certainly one of them.
Gold Minds look and sound like a very much ferocious and energetic act from here, striking all blunt and arresting through their brilliant rock 'n' roller Anxiety. The band's punchy debut single connects a direct, spirited and ageless style of rock 'n' roll with a distressed, yet, sincere lyrical content, a shook up delivery, and solid production from Michael Badger (King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Amyl & The Sniffers).
It's two and a half minutes of memorable, electric punk rock, and it sounds sensational.
