The Ocean of Mercy and Drunk On Marrow are two just unveiled tracks off Grave of a Dog, the much anticipated debut album by the super dark and super heavy super band, Sightless Pit, composed of Lee Buford (The Body), Kristin Hayter (Lingua Ignota) and Dylan Walker (Full of Hell). The album releases in its entirety on February 21st, 2020 through Thrill Jockey Records.
The Ocean of Mercy is an elegiac piece that prominently features Kristin's imposing vocal over a grabbing melody which makes excellent use of monotony, while the coarser, Drunk On Marrow, presents more of the project's dark industrial and hardcore qualities.
Grave of a Dog already has the earmarks of something very much diverse, multifaceted and definitely cutting edge. It was recorded over the course of two years by Seth Manchester at Machines With Magnets, and it's describe by the group's own Dylan Walker as being "about the anonymity of struggle, the darkness of a lifetime wasted warring against nature, god and everything else, only to be defeated… nothing… the end."
