Originally on the limited box set edition of Alcest's 2019 album, Spiritual Instinct, alongside a version of the track Protection by Ben Chisholm, Perturbator's take on Sapphire strikingly brings together the worlds of blackgaze and contemporary electronica, as the two Parisian acts who joined forces on this one come from poles apart sides of underground music.
Alcest are on the heels of a very impressive latest album that is their aforementioned latest, while Perturbator's hasn't come through with anything new in longer form since New Model, his notably dark EP from 2017 (excluding the couple of B-Sides And Remixes compilations).
