Coming from Chisinau, Moldova, Denorm are a very crisp-sounding post rock group whose promising first EP, Out Of Sight, came out last year, followed by the recently released Live In The Greenhouse, a three-track EP which presents the band's forcible live presence, and sounds so well captured that feels more like a studio recording.
Highlights is the EP's fascinating opener, a track which surfaces bright and dramatic at the same time, on the lines of the electronic dreampop radiance of the early M83, the over-emotionalism of Sigur Rós, and the instrumental robustness of Mogwai. Tactfully filmed by Marina Bernaz, all three track from the EP come with correspondingly elegant and artistic visuals.
Captivating as individual compositions, and even more consistent as a unit, Live In The Greenhouse puts Denorm on the post rock map, at least for those who missed out on their hopeful 2019 debut.
