Rising post punk act, Deep Tissue, release their full length, Patience Or Fear, on July 13th, 2020 through Play Alone Records, and introduce it with the sharp edged opening cut, Mood Swing, together with a direct, black and white accompanying visual.
"Mood Swing is about desperately wanting your life to change for the better but being so down, and so clouded by negative thoughts, that you canʼt bring yourself to believe itʼll ever really change," the band describe the dark cut which sets the record off to an imposing start.
Drawing from the darkest facets of post punk, darkwave and deathrock, Deep Tissue deal with real life issues, existential and philosophical notions, and sound honest and vicious through their delivery, while musically they are grounded on a traditional style of instrumentation which involves searing guitars and bold rhythms.
Deep Tissue are Lauren Leilani Iona (vocals), Arthur Wurt (bass), Geoff Smith (guitar), Adam Moffitt (drums), and Shaun Nelson (guitar). Patience Or Fear follows their self-titled EP from late 2018.
"The title of the record, Patience Or Fear, comes from a line in Mood Swing," the band also reveal. "Itʼs Lauren questioning that old saying "good things come to those who wait," wondering if itʼs more like Iʼm looking for an excuse to give in to apathy and not take any action. Fear is the root of that."
