Breathe Fire is the latest single off the coming The Witching Hour, the first album in ten whole years by Soft Black, a project helmed by Vincent Cacchione of Caged Animals fame.
The new song features Cole Smith from DIIV on guitar, as well as Sunflower Bean producer Matthew Molnar on bass.
Once more brandishing Soft Black's dark take on indie rock, Breathe Fire is an older composition which found its way on the band's forthcoming album. It is a direct two minute cut which tends toward a traditional Americana rock sound, while it carries the band's superb live production done together with Daniel Schlett (The War on Drugs). The album's tracklist features a Breathe Fire Pt. 2, so there's more of that same well rounded musicianship which the song exhibits, in what evidently has already been shaping up to be Soft Black's most consistent work.
The Witching Hour comes out September 25th, 2020.
