Reaching the completion of their fifteenth year together as a band, AC Berkheimer come straight from the Dutch underground indie rock scene to begin a new creative period after having already completed three full lengths and a few single and EP releases.
Deriving from a sense of freedom and the feeling of letting go of habits on both a practical and conceptional level, new single, Joy, finds the band looser and willing to follow their creativity at its own pace.
"Joy tells about the feel of inner struggle while wanting to break with old habits but not ready to let go of these feelings so familiar," the describe their latest, exploratory shoegazer which leads the band to their new direction.
Joy was recorded in the Amsterdam IJland studio, produced by Remko Schouten (Stephen Malkmus, Canshaker Pi) and mastered by Tammo Kersbergen (I Am Oak). It's out now through Katzwijm Records.
