With a characteristic 3/4 waltz similar to their older song, Disaster, off their acclaimed 2007 album, The Besnard Lakes Are the Dark Horse, new track, Our Heads, Our Hearts On Fire Again, is the latest single from The Besnard Lakes, part of the coming The Besnard Lakes Are The Last Of The Great Thunderstorm Warnings.
The forthcoming record is the band's first independent release after a long partnership with Jagjaguar, and the new single sees The Besnard Lakes thriving at a grand version of psychedelic indie rock, while it also works as an expression of sadness about the end of their relationship with their label. It's being part of the Canadian group's ambitious sixth full length, a 72-minute epic which is themed on the gloom of death and the light on the other side.
