Coming forth with a slow burning sound which immediately feels like the epitome of slowcore, Chicago's Doom Flower have just released their dense self-titled album. With their core composed of Jess Price and Bobby Burg, Doom Flower began recording alongside Matt Lemke in March of 2020, but eventually they went astray, and finished writing music over email before recording at Electrical Audio.
Doom Flower is out on Burg's Record Label, an imprint started in 1999 as a means of self release, which was distributed by Touch & Go for a while before the legendary indie label went out of business.
For the accompanying video to the song Get A Job, singer Jess Price got a job setting controlled burns and filmed parts of it to use in the clip. Jess and Bobby previously collaborated on videos for Joan of Arc who released some records on Record Label, alongside other notable acts such as Chin Up Chin Up and Mount Eerie.
