From Sweden, traditional gothic rockers Gallows' Eve, release Five Hexes, a solid EP with classic dark rock elements, defined by a blend of gloomy and oftentimes haunting atmospherics, as well as tuneful hard rock melodicism.
Highlight track, Born to Die, is an easily memorable gothic rock cut that recalls Paradise Lost's Draconian Times period, The 69 Eyes' early material, and more from the genre's vanguard, yet, it maintains a sense of vitality which feels completely genuine.
Strong, dark aesthetics and a forceful musical approach which seems authentic and cognizant of its origins at the same time comprise Gallows' Eve's craft, which impresses through a very well-defined and executed debut effort.
