London's Rapt delivers the new album, Wayward Faith, a presentation of the artist more folk-bent side, and a collection of songs filled with melancholy and yearning. Rapt's new music documents a humble creative approach, and it's largely defined by pragmatism toward life's adversity, the effects of the pandemic turmoil, and exploration of faith.
Only Water is the album's opening track, a deeply sorrowful cut with ambient factors and a post folk base which tends to come across as a haunting and immersive listen.
Rapt describes the track as "a reflection on climate change, posterity, love and the ruthless grind that is fate and the hours we face."
Rapt is Jacob Ware (songwriting, production, vocals, guitar, piano), and Only Water features backing vocals from Demi Haynes.
