Veering slightly away from the harsher industrial sound for which they're best known, Austin, TX, two-piece industrial act, Dread Risks take a bit of a more approachable direction on Trace Amounts, a highlight track and upcoming single off their recent album, automated disappointment, out through Re:Mission Entertainment.
Trace Amounts is a dark, somber and melodic industrial ballad with memorable parts, reminiscent of the more accessible moments of acts like Front Line Assembly.
The band's sophomore album, automated disappointment, builds on the momentum of their full length debut, Possession Therapy from 2021, and shows rapid maturation which has enabled the band to start establishing themselves as a modern industrial mainstay.
With the charge more tightly contained and better targeted, Dread Risks let their songwriting merits come to the front.
