Powder Pink & Sweet are a fresh dreampop/shoegaze act led by Cris Verso, a veteran musician in the Los Angeles music scene, and a multifaceted artist who has collaborated with a disparate array of performers from different genres, diverging from from ska and reggae (The Cover-Ups, The Twi-Lites, Hi Fever) to punk (The Stalkings).
Powder Pink & Sweet finds Verso trying a shoegaze and dreampop approach, after having explored the genre in collaborations with Sleeping Car, and Rafe Mandel (of Polar Goldie Cats and Best Coast).
Powder Pink & Sweet came together soon after Verso's mother passed away. "After my mom died In 2015, I got the courage to develop it and get more serious," the artist explains.
After some standalone singles in 2016, 2018 and 2020, Powder Pink & Sweet are ready with their debut album, Little Stories, which will be released on November 4th, 2022.
Slightly Hopeful, the band's first single, stirs up a familiar dreampop nostalgia, similar to that of the genre's limelight, and serves as a very favorable first offering for the band's anticipated full length.
