Bern, Switzerland-based collective, Plague Pits, have had a very productive year, with the release of six EPs and an album which have created a pretty solid early body of work, and delineated the band's incredible combination of coldwave, dark disco and experimental post punk sounds.
Poetry From The Future is the group's latest release, a six-song EP, themed on the idea of the future becoming solely probable as a disaster. Solid, the lead track, describes how capitalism brings down all non-profitable types of relation.
Plague Pits are a politically and socially conscious act, and with their newest offering they demonstrate their competence at a minimalistic sound, as well as their engaging tone founded on analog synthesizers, clear melodies, and well thought out lyricism.
