The sound of Mexican trio, Mengers, has many distinct characteristics. Based on a strong mixture of noise rock, post punk and garage rock sounds, the band creates an upbeat outcome which is very often driven by tuneful melodies.
After the good reception of their breakthrough album, GOLLY, the band returned with new full length, i/O, with which they demonstrate their consistency. The new album clearly shows that Mengers have advanced to a new height, and represents a development of their act.
The title track of the album is a great example of this new approach of warped melodicism. The 'on/off' switches found on the majority of electronic devices are the inspiration for i/O, Mengers' reflection on how life doesn't deal in such duality, and how opposites often work best together.
