Swiss collective, Plague Pits, return with another EP, The Light, which is expected to be released on March 17th, 2023. New track, Velvet Glove, comes ahead of the EP release to delineate the band's consistency and evolution, and become an instant highlight of the band's catalog.
Plague Pits describe the song: "Velvet Glove is a song about ideology - religion, nationalism, neoliberalism - and how its promise of meaning and belonging inevitably turns out to be empty."
Plague Pits keep coming up with compelling darkwave sounds with a gloomy conception, amazing use of cold synths, and introverted vocals while still taking a minimal approach to both their sound and aesthetics.
Velvet Glove will also be part of a new compilation on Young & Cold Records. Punishment & Extinction brings together some of the band's standout moments from their self-released EPs, to be issued for the first time on vinyl and CD.
