Madeline Goldstein is an emerging and notable figure in the contemporary new wave revival. Previously a member of Portland's Fringe Class, Goldstein created her own solo project upon moving to Los Angeles in 2019. The latest EP, Other World, showcases the artist's refined take on dark synthpop, dreampop, and post punk.
Death's Door, one of the four tracks on the EP, stands out as the most heavily inclined towards goth sounds and aesthetics. It serves as an immersive exploration into the sphere of nightmares, enveloping in a hauntingly atmospheric dreamscape, augmented by rich layers of synthesizers and expressive vocals.
