There are always some great releases in reissues, compilation albums, live albums and extended plays, but we don't consider those eligible for our Albums of the Year list, and that is the sole reason why The Hunt Begins wasn’t on our year-end list this past year. The album was recorded in 2009, just before the band disbanded, leaving the recordings on the shelf for four years. The Hunt were a post punk band, formed in New York in 2007. After they disbanded in 2009, their members went on to two equally great post punk/deathrock bands, Cult of Youth and Anasazi.
