William S. Burroughs was born 100 years ago today. Towers Open Fire was one of the first experimental films based on his writing, shot between 1961 and 1962, directed by Anthony Balch. The series of photos which follow were taken during October 1959 in Paris by Loomis Dean for Life Magazine. Also featured in these are Burroughs’ friend and collaborator, painter Brion Gysin, comedian Jean Jean-Noire and others.
