One of the greats, Alain Resnais, passed away at the age of 91. His huge filmography spanned nine decades, though he may always be remembered mostly for the outstanding Nuit et brouillard (Night and Fog), a 32-minute documentary that described the lives of the prisoners in the Nazi death camps, made in 1955 and Hiroshima Mon Amour, a 1959 drama, very significant to the Nouvelle Vague movement.
