Oregon based doom metal trio, Yob, are back with their seventh studio album, three years after their previous one, Atma. One of the most anticipated metal albums of the year, Clearing The Path To Ascend, comes September 2nd via Neurot.
The album is comprised of four long tracks, drenched in thunderous doom heaviness. Aggressive and furious, Yob’s new offering is appropriately titled, as it guides the listener to an almost purifying state of mind through its assertive yet remarkably delicate sound. It meets the high expectations coming with the band’s reputation as one of the genre’s finest and like with every single one of their previous works in almost two decades, it doesn’t disappoint.
Sleep, Electric Wizard, Ides Of Gemini, Bongripper, Pallbearer, an upcoming album from Earth… Contemporary doom metal stands strong these days and Yob are a crucial factor to that happening.
