So much attention and care have gone into this process, this renewal. We knew in order to really move Minsk forward in a meaningful way we would need to raise the bar all over again. This realization lit a fire within us to transcend what was. Lots of changes, to be sure, and yet the results are unmistakably Minsk.Chicago’s Minsk is the perfect example of post-metal meets psychedelia, a worthy disciple of bands like Neurosis and Isis, that have already given the world three excellent albums, an EP, a split with Unearthly Trance, were part in the Hawkwind Triad record with US Christmas and Harvestman and have also contributed in the fantastic tribute record to Eyehategod.
2007’s The Ritual Fires of Abandonment is still unsurpassed, but after a six year hiatus, the band is back, set to release one of the best metal albums of the year.
Off the new record comes To The Garish Remembrance of Failure, a killer track proving Minsk is back with a vengeance.
