With Jeff Hanneman's passing in 2013, you might say that naturally things have been a little slow with Slayer. Their new song, When The Stillness Comes finds the band in one of their darkest moods ever, written by Kerry King and it's supposed to be about someone who wakes up at a crime scene, realizing he has murdered everyone around.
The song is going to be part of Slayer's upcoming album, which is still in the making and has just been released on a limited edition of 5000, a 7-inch vinyl as a Record Store Day special.
The song starts slowly with a long intro that evolves into a doomy riff, before eventually it all becomes classic Slayer thrash-riffing, pretty close to what we're used to from their few latest albums. It's pretty great as always...
