Dieter Moebius was a groundbreaking krautrock musician who begun experimenting with/forming the genre when he formed Kluster (later Cluster) in 1969, together with Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Conrad Schnitzler from Tangerine Dream. Moebius was also part of another seminal krautrock band, Harmonia whom he formed in the early seventies, together with Roedelius (again) and Michael Rother from Neu!. Both as Cluster and Harmonia he collaborated with Brian Eno on record, as well as other much important krautrock musicians, like Conny Plank, Mani Neumeier from Guru Guru, Jürgen Engler from Die Krupps, Gerd Beerbohm, Karl Renziehausen, Mayo Thompson from Red Crayola and Asmus Tietchens.
Dieter Moebius died of cancer on July 20th, aged 71.
Here's Harmonia (on their only album credited as Harmonia '76) with Eno, on the almost 16-minute long, Sometimes In Autumn, from the Tracks And Traces record which was recorded in 1976, but wasn't released sooner than 1997 (and remastered and reissued in 2009 by Grönland Records with additional recordings and credited to Harmonia & Eno '76).
