Atheist's Cornea marks the return of veteran Japanese hardcore/post rock band, Envy and it's their first new album in five years.
On this one the band tries not to lean more on neither hardcore nor post rock, yet they attempted to create a genuine Envy album, with no new influences involved, but them doing what they have proved they're experts at, expressing themselves in the blending of the two genres, balancing ferocity with charm.
After more than a couple of decades being active and having released only six studio albums in total, let's hope the gap between this one and their next album won't be that big.
