Between 2009 and 2011, Tropic Of Cancer released two seminal for the label and now very hard-to-find 10" singles on Blackest Ever Black, The Dull Age/Victims and Be Brave. All three original tracks from those releases are now compiled in a brand new 12" vinyl release, Archive: The Downward Singles which will be out towards the end of October.
Dark, ethereal, hypnotic and (in Be Brave's case) wild, The Downward Singles set the ground for the imposing EPs and the remarkable debut album that followed. While still a duo, Tropic Of Cancer set the bar quite high, in post-punk no wave attitude and dark aesthetics that back then justly place them among darkwave's most promising acts, at least for the few who were following them from the very start.
