Since the disbanding of Maudlin Of The Well and the inception of Kayo Dot, the band has produced a great deal of albums and other releases, gone through line up changes and label switches and have managed to bring to life a body of work that happens to be one of the most diverse in contemporary underground music today.
On Plastic House On Base Of Sky Kayo Dot picks up things from where they left them. Similar to their previous album, Coffins On Io, the band's new full length continues to hold onto the electronic sounds and the the heavy use of vintage analog synthesizers, once more unfolding some modern noir themes that could have come straight from some austere post apocalyptic version of the future.
