If you were to listen to The Molochs' couple of new tracks off their upcoming 2017 album without any context, your probable first guess would be that those songs were produced in the sixties, and a sensible second guess could be that they were part of the garage rock/psych sixties revival that occurred in the eighties.
The LA band's jangly vibes can't help but bring to mind the early years of The Rolling Stones, The Velvet Underground, The Kinks or if you look at it from that other point of view, bands like The Miracle Workers, Droogs or 54-40.
You And Me, the second song the band shares off their new album, is accompanied by a visually amazing Super-8 style video, directed by Laura-Lynn Petrick, which recalls the 1960s yet again and matches the song's aesthetics in perfect harmony.
The Molochs' new album, America's Velvet Glory, comes out January 13, 2017 via Innovative Leisure.
