Canadian multi-instrumentalist and producer moon:and:6 is about to release his upcoming new mini album, A Brief History of American Space Travel, which narrates the history of the American Space program from 1958 to 2011 in the artist's own blend of French-style electronica, downtempo, post rock and the inspiration he has received over the years from electronic music pioneers like Brian Eno and Steve Reich.
A brilliant concept that sounds like it bridges the gaps between Eno, Ladytron and Simian Mobile Disco, the album opens with Welcome To Space, a track that tells the tale of the seven astronauts that were selected for the very first American attempts of launching human beings into space, and which uses a voice sample that was taken from NASA's audio archives.
The album releases on March 31st 2017 through Maisonneuve Music, however, its opening track, backed by a fantastic video that is comprised of archival footage of that era, streams right below.
