Austin's psych rock champions, The Black Angels, are about to return to action with a new album, the band's first in four years and first for Partisan Records, titled Death Song and due on April 21st.
The album was recorded between Seattle and Austin and produced by Phil Eck (Father John Misty, Fleet Foxes, The Shins).
Currency is one of the heaviest songs the band's ever recorded and it features the five-piece's signature fuzzed up guitars and rich delusive production that helped the band earn their notoriety since their first appearance back in 2005.
Death Song will be The Black Angels' fifth full length record in total and on the back of it they will be touring extensively, including a headlining gig at the new NYC venue, Brooklyn Steel, on May 2nd.
