New York's Girl As Wave will release her debut EP, Poison Vines And Nectar, later this year, for which she collaborated with L.A.-based producer/multi-instrumentalist, Jimmy Deer.
The long distance collaboration between the two resulted in the upcoming collection of four tracks, the first of of which, Speed Of Light, is a laid-back three-minute indie rocker with prominent sensuous vocals and a memorable hook. It contains all the dynamics of a typical indie rock gem, and withal contemporary and fresh.
About the song, Girl As Wave states: "It’s about living with eyes closed and hopefully getting them open before suffering a self-imposed disaster. It also explores the before and after of slowing down and waking up."
