In any period of time the release of a new track by The Beatles should be a big deal and should make it on every news report - but since Apple Corps, Capitol and UMe never seem to run out of those unreleased takes, people to a degree they have grown accustomed to hearing them pop out every few years.
2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the release of Sgt.Peppers... and the new reissue that's about to be shoved to our faces is going to be a grand one, it will come in various editions and packages and it will be enhanced not with one, not with ten but a staggering 34 unreleased recordings, not to forget the 144-page book.
This needn't be on D//E, since it's already out through all the huge outlets, still, who could resist setting up a little article with the iconic cover of the mighty Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band as the cover image?
Listen to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Take 9 And Speech) over at The Guardian.
The new reissue comes out May 26th.
