The Cut Losses is the brainchild of artist Patrick McWilliams, who, believe it or not, as a teenager was discouraged from pursuing music as a career from his high school teachers.
Facts and sounds prove otherwise though, as his band has quickly earned thousands of plays on Spotify soon after their albums release, and enjoyed the respect and praise from critics, bloggers and surely the majority of the internet's indie rock community.
Their enchanting clip for Spending Time On My Own, a staggering cut off their debut EP, Lightning Dolphin, with its vintage feel, the grainy texture and pale colors, reflects the music's subtlety in detail and demonstrates how those outsiders' future in this scene is not up for debate.
