American death metal band Broken Hope has had its ups and downs over the years. The band was founded in 1988 and by 1999 they had released five full length albums, earning almost immediately the attention and respect of their fans and peers within the death metal realm, especially for the low-pitched growling vocals of Joe Ptacek and the band's excruciating technical mid-paced style. Dysfunction and misfortune prevailed though and by 2002 Broken Hope had disbanded.
In 2012 the band got back together and released their sixth album, Omen Of Disease, without Ptacek who took his own life in 2010, nor their founding drummer, Ryan Stanek, who had earlier been kicked out of the band for selling Broken Hope merchandise to fans, keeping the money for himself, but never having sent out any of the purchased merchandise. Sadly, Stanek died too, unexpectedly in 2015.
Broken Hope are holding up strong with a revitalized lineup comprised of Damian Leski (vocals), Jeremy Wagner (guitars), Mike Miczek (drums), Matt Szlachta (lead guitars) and Diego Soria (bass), and ready to unveil their seventh album, Mutilated And Assimilated on June 23rd via Century Media. The album is produced by Scott Creekmore who has previously served the band as their live vocalist after Joe Ptacek had left.

The super sick video for the single, The Carrion Eaters, is directed by Maciej Pieloch. If you feel a little squeamish, be warned...
