Swine Tax are a Newcastle upon Tyne based alternative rock trio with a lot of melancholy up their sleeve and plenty of individuality, manifested through adroit musicianship which involves dreamy textures, synths and electronics over their founded on post-punk kind of indie rock. Among their influences the band mentions artists such as Car Seat Headrest, The National and Modest Mouse. Their well structured and warmly laid down songs lean mostly towards deeply personal themes, as in social alienation, uncertainty in love, and chronic pain.
The band has recently supported the likes of The Orielles and Glass Caves, and people will have a few chances to catch them live this June on their several gigs in the North East of England.
Brittle is Swine Tax's second single, a spirited and easily memorable guitar-driven indie rock tune, which gives voice to feelings of insecurity and anxiety and expresses how those can overpower the intimacy of a relationship.
