Comprised of bassist Kris Pandierada, drummer Andrew Fasken and Guitarist/Vocalist Marko Woloshyn, Canadian indie rockers, Bike Thiefs balance between post-punk, garage rock and noise rock, in their own individual, full of character blend which they call "chatty post punk."
Destination Wedding is the opening number from their new EP, Lean Into It. It's a spirited track which conveys the abrasiveness of the latest wave of notable post-punk acts, like The Men, Eagulls and Protomartyr, next to the verve that has made more popular acts, like Parquet Courts, so well-known and accessible. Listen closely though, and you'll see that It is mainly in the song's lyrics where Bike Thiefs get to reach the most fierce and profound angles of their ingenuity, in which case comes the aforementioned self-appointed "chatty" part. Since what they mean by that in actuality is something along the lines of "introspection" and "wit", make sure to give the entire EP a loud listen.
