Hamburg duo Kraków Loves Adana, comprised of Deniz Cicek and Robert Heitmann, have just unleashed another piece off their anticipated new album, Songs After The Blue which is scheduled for release on April 6th, 2018 on Better Call Rob. Rapture, their new single, comes together with a sulky, captivating music video directed by Wy’s Ebba Ågren, and just like American Boy - the single that preceded it, it demonstrates the duo's direction towards a more candid pop sound, while maintaining the intrigue provided by the signature brooding vocals and overall synth-laden eccentricity.
"Rapture is an ode to the cassette, with the walkman making music a private experience, with the mixtape reflecting romance, with its shabby sound embodying a somehow misplaced nostalgia," the band explain and reveal that the track works also as a "flashback to Deniz’ teenage years when she and her friends used to stroll through the night, she with a cassette playing through her headphones, no worries, just the joy of movement and music."
As Kraków Loves Adana grow and develop with time and experience, they seem more inclined towards simplicity and purity, not only in regards to their sound, but also on their subjects and themes. Rapture is a nostalgic throwback to simpler times and purer feelings, and it raises the anticipation for the duo's coming full length, while exhibiting their evident growth.
